How To Train Your Queen's Dragons

This is my review for Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 2 "Home".

They totally did the thing. After Jon Snow's death at the end of season 5 we all knew what was coming. What was so unexpected though was how soon his resurrection would happen. But since the show is completely going off book, they're allowed to rush through some things. If Winds of Winter had already been released before this year, the story of Jon's resurrection would probably have taken all season, even maybe as a cliffhanger.

It was another episode full of big deaths. After finally getting back to Pyke and introducing Euron Greyjoy he went full Lion King and killed his brother and reigning king of the Iron Islands, Balon. It even had some Star Wars thrown in because what's a big death without a long plunge down a chasm.

The Boltons met their end by none other than Ramsay's hand. Of course. He once again continues to be the most hated character on the show. Once it was revealed his stepmother birthed a son, we all knew he'd be pissed. Killing his father, stepmother, and half-brother pissed though? Well, yeah.

Over in the wonderful land of Essos our boy Tyrion totally didn't get burnt to a crisp by Dany's dragons. What does this mean? Is he just that good? Or maybe he's a Targaryen. That's certainly a popular theory. But with the introduction of Bran flashbacks and next episode showing the Tower of Joy, another popular theory could be confirmed. R + L = J which states that Jon Snow is actually the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen.

Overall it was a pretty strong episode. Stronger than Ser Robert Strong who has no chill. I can't wait to see how things can get more crazy from here.
